The Best Time of Year to Play Golf in Mallorca — Month by Month (2026)

Short answer: October–November and February–April. But the island plays better year-round than most people expect.

Short answer: October–November and February–April. But the island plays better year-round than most people expect — and the wrong month for one golfer is the right month for another.

January–February

Quieter, cheaper, and often surprisingly good. 12–16°C. Courses in excellent condition — the January fairways here are better than August fairways in England. Some rain risk in January. Green fees at off-peak lows. If you want empty courses and genuine value, this is your window.

March–April

The best shoulder season. 16–20°C, courses recovering from winter beautifully, fewer crowds than summer. Green fees rising but not yet peak. Alcanada starts picking up with the Rolex Challenge Tour preparation. My second-favourite window.

May–June

Excellent golf weather — 20–26°C, courses in pristine condition, long evenings. Prices rising with the tourist season. Book tee times at Son Gual and Alcanada well in advance in June. Genuinely outstanding if you book ahead.

July–August

Hot (30–38°C), busy, and expensive. Peak green fees. Early morning tee times (7–8am) are essential — playing after 11am in August is genuinely demanding. Still playable, but not the window I'd choose for a dedicated golf trip.

"In January, when courses in England are closed or waterlogged, the fairways here are immaculate. That still surprises visitors every year."

September–October

My favourite window. Temperatures dropping to a comfortable 22–26°C, post-summer courses in excellent condition, green fees beginning to fall. September still busy; October noticeably quieter. Peak conditions, shoulder pricing — the sweet spot.

Alcanada hosts the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final in October 2026 — worth knowing if you want to watch elite-level golf while you're on the island.

November–December

November is excellent and underrated. Quiet, good value, courses playing well. December variable but often better than you'd expect. Christmas week surprisingly busy with northern Europeans fleeing winter.

The Verdict

October, November, March, and April are the professional's recommendation. Best combination of course conditions, weather, value, and pace of play. If you want to avoid crowds entirely and don't mind cooler mornings, January–February is genuinely worth considering.
